Some previous trip reports noted the hiking guide entry needed corrections and updates, so I hiked the trail on a mild day in November with that in mind (HG should be updated soon). I didn't hike all the way to Fry Road (the other TH mentioned in Best Desert Hikes) because it gets tedious to hike on the angular basalt ballast.
