About The Alpine Guide

Every weekend started the same way: check the weather forecast, pull up the avalanche report, scan trail conditions, look at road closures, maybe check the sunrise time. Five tabs, three apps, and an hour later we'd finally pick a trail — only to wonder if we missed something better.

The Alpine Guide was born from that frustration. We built it because we were tired of stitching together information from a dozen different sources just to answer one simple question: where should I go this weekend?

The app pulls real-time data from NOAA weather stations, NWAC avalanche forecasts, Washington Trails Association reports, WSDOT road conditions, and astronomy data — then synthesizes it all into ranked, personalized recommendations. No more tab-juggling. No more guessing.

Whether you're looking for a dog-friendly day hike, a ski tour with fresh powder, or a clear night for stargazing, The Alpine Guide finds the best option for right now and tells you why.

We're a small team of hikers, skiers, and trail runners based in the Pacific Northwest. We built this for ourselves first — and now we're sharing it with you.
