Palouse to Cascades Trail - Army East

The Army East trailhead parking as described here was inaccessible with a gate across the road. There is a large parking area right across from this road, though.

En route from Seattle to Spokane, my pooch and I thought it would be fun to take a brief detour a few miles to the south of I-90 to try out the new Beverly Railroad Bridge, which was recently converted to a bike/ pedestrian trail.   It was a splendid October Sunday; not a cloud in the sky and a temperature that was warm, maybe a tad too warm, but not hot.

I've been wanting to walk across the Beverly Bridge ever since it opened a year ago and today was finally the day.   Ethan, Karen, & I parked at the parking area where Huntzinger Rd crosses the Palouse to Cascades Trail.
