This is actually a trip report for the Northrup Canyon trail, which should be added to the WTA trails list. The trail starts at the same place as the old wagon road trail, but shortly veers off to the left and passes through the canyon.

Well maintained trail that sputters out a little when you get onto the plateau. Flowers were blooming and Lazuli Bunting were singing.

This is a short enjoyable hike through a lovely canyon that reveals interesting landscape, an old homestead, a lake and various animals primarily birds, marmots and a few butterflies this time of year. A serene lake is accessible at the end of the trail.
