Road covered with snow made pulling sled with camping gear easier than backpacking. We brought some wood from home because the wood around the area can be a bit damp.

Parked along road as soon as I crossed Umtanum creek, which is now just run off from a water trough. I hiked up the ridge to the north of the creek until I got to the crest overlooking Manastash creek.

The balsamroot at are a bit blown out on this trail now. Still pretty, but starting to fade.
