Hiked the Gray Rock Trail from the North Fork Trailhead north to Little Lake so named because it is... little.
Tried to do the traverse from trail head on the north fork, over White Ridge and on to Tree Phones. Downed trees across the trail had been cleared on the lower portion of the trail on the north side but lots of uncleared tree fall on the upper portion beyond the two upper bridges.
As the first Larch reports started rolling in from the North Cascades, our group decided to check on how the Western Larches were doing a little closer to home. It’s still early in the season, but the trees are starting to turn — that light lime-green phase that hints peak golds are just around the corner, likely within the next 10–15 days.
