Peaceful visit wandering around old buildings under oak trees and by springs, hardly anyone else there.  Our dog was intrigued by ground squirrels.

We had camped at Maryhill SP for 4 nights and were on our way to Yakima Sportsman SP to camp tonight. We took a side trip to Fort Simcoe to hopefully see the many Lewis's woodpeckers who frequent the area and we were not disappointed as there were many flying in and out of the oak trees in the picnic area near the large parking lot!

We really enjoyed coming out to this historic site.  We were met with birdsong as soon as we exited the car.
