About This Trail

Blandford Canyon stitches together South Cliff Park, DuBois Park, and a wooded ravine in between, just east of downtown Vancouver. The trail network totals under a mile, threading through bigleaf maple, Douglas fir, and dense salal. A road crossing at North Blandford Canyon Drive separates the two parks; signage is modest and the connecting routes take a moment to puzzle out on a first visit.

The setting is residential. Houses sit on the rim above the ravine, but the canyon floor stays surprisingly secluded — birdsong dominates, and the canopy darkens enough that summer afternoons stay cool. Fall colors hold longer here than on the open street; trillium and bleeding heart show in March and April.

This is a neighborhood walk, not a hike. Park along the residential streets near South Cliff, plan to puzzle out the trail-park-trail handoff, and treat it as a stretch break rather than a destination.
