We decided cold, windy rain was perfect weather to burn off some energy this morning. Pretty much had the place to ourselves and the 4 year old managed the full little loop, which we hiked counterclockwise (better, I think for slowly enjoying the tree section and racing down the more open parts).

Dry fluffy snow that gets deeper with elevation, but still mere inches, I did not use any boot traction devices. Approximate 5 mile loop with lunch at the Emerald Necklace/Arrowleaf Root junction.

Super short stroll with my father in law and the kiddo. Only a handful of cars at the lot in this trailhead, and just the smallest dusting of snow, where we practiced drawing animal tracks.
