About This Trail

Tronsen Meadow climbs from Blewett Pass through mixed forest and open meadows onto Tronsen Ridge, where views extend to the Stuart Range, Glacier Peak, and Mount Rainier on clear days. The 3.4-mile roundtrip route gains 1,168 feet on a multi-use trail shared with horses and occasionally motorcycles. Charred tree trunks from past fires dot the upper slopes, and the recovering burn zones host wildflowers in early summer and golden larches in October.

The trail connects to the broader Tronsen Ridge Trail system, making it a viable starting point for longer loops through the Wenatchee Mountains. Access is straightforward from Highway 97 near Blewett Pass, though the final mile of Forest Road 7240 is rough. East-side weather makes this a reliable rain-escape option from Seattle, though the ridge is exposed and cold when wind picks up. Snow can linger into spring and returns by late November, making snowshoes useful for shoulder-season visits. The meadow itself is a pleasant destination even on short outings.
