Stormy Mountain Summit

OK, this is actually a report for a NOT hike - the snow seemed mostly gone around here and the snow depth overlay on the WTA map didn't indicate any issues, but there was far too much snow on the road during the last mile before the trailhead at Windy Saddle.   So I stopped, tried to walk up the road for a while but it was too much for me and I was on my own.

Beautiful views up on Stormy Mountain today! I came from the Entiat River side, and the road is snow free all the way to the trailhead.

The first ten miles or so of Slide Ridge Forest Service Road are in good shape. There are a couple of pull-offs that give good views of Lake Chelan and the smaller lakes nearby, worth stopping at even if the air was a bit hazy from lingering smoke during our visit.
