About This Trail

Soda Springs Big Trees is a short loop trail in the former Soda Springs Campground along the Little Wenatchee River. The trail once wound through old-growth trees with multiple stream crossings, but the campground has been closed for years due to hazardous trees. The White River-Irving Peak fire in August 2022 caused further damage, and the area remains closed.

WTA explicitly warns that hazard trees make the area dangerous and hikers should refrain from visiting. The road to the campground has been blocked with "do not enter" signs, and the surrounding land includes private property. No restoration or reopening plans have been announced.

This trail should be considered closed indefinitely. The nearby Big Tree Loop trail in the same area is in the same condition.
