About This Trail

Robinson Creek Trail follows the creek valley for 15 km to Robinson Pass at 1,896 meters, climbing steadily through forest with the constant sound of moving water. The trail traces the footsteps of Billy Robinson, an early trapper who worked this drainage. Beauty Creek Falls appears at about 4.5 km and makes a solid turnaround point for shorter trips.

Campsites dot the valley at regular intervals, roughly every 2 km, making this a flexible backpacking route. Wildflowers fill the upper meadows from mid-June through July, with paintbrush and lupine dominating. The trail connects to the PCT network via the West Fork Methow River, enabling multi-day loop options through Glacier Pass. WTA trail crews cleared downed trees all the way to Robinson Pass in June 2025.

Hart's Pass Road is currently closed at the Monument Creek trailhead due to washouts, adding a 2.4 km road walk to reach the actual Robinson Creek trailhead. A Northwest Forest Pass and self-issued wilderness permit are required. The valley's relatively low starting elevation means snow melts out earlier than many Pasayten destinations, with the first few miles typically clear by mid-May.
