About This Trail

Pipe Creek Loop follows an old forest road from the Pipe Creek Sno-Park, climbing 900 feet over 2.1 miles through quiet forest that parallels Pipe Creek. The route forms a lollipop loop at the top, with a small diamond-shaped circuit that offers filtered views of Diamond Head and the Teanaway ridges through gaps in the trees. Blue blazes and forest service signs mark the route throughout.

The sno-park sees far less traffic than the Blewett Pass lot, making this a reliably quiet outing. The wide road surface and moderate grade work well for both snowshoers and cross-country skiers. Kids can handle the distance and elevation with some encouragement, and the creek adds interest along the lower section.

The Pipe Creek Sno-Park also serves as the starting point for Swauk Meadows and connects to the broader Blewett Pass trail network. Snowshoers looking for a longer day can continue beyond the loop toward Swauk Meadows or link up with trails heading toward Tronsen Meadow.

The trail has been frequented by other snowshoes and was easy to follow for an out-and-back (but not the small loop at the end).   My hiking partner needed to take off their snowshoes (technical difficulties) and so did experience some post-holing without them.

Lovely snowshoeing day. It was perfect weather and very few people on the trail.
