I bagged a couple new ALW lakes today - Hamada Lake and Murphy Lakes (upper and lower). Right off the bat, let me say this is NOT a hike, it's a scramble.

In the 60s and 70s I went into Murphy Lakes several times because it was good fishing. And for that reason a well-beaten path was worn.

Today we headed up Scenic Creek to Murphy Lakes. I have hiked up to these lakes many times since the 70’s but this is the first time that I have had a tough time following the route.
