Camp Creek Falls
South CascadesBest Apr–Jun, Sep–Oct
A short side-slope walk to a thirty-foot waterfall on the Cispus drainage.
About This Trail
Camp Creek Falls drops thirty feet over mossy bedrock a third of a mile from a small pullout on Forest Road 23 in the Gifford Pinchot. The trail leaves the road, traverses a steep side slope through mixed conifer and hardwood, and ends at a viewpoint above the falls. The total walk is short — easy for a family stop on the long drive into the Cispus Valley.
Trillium and yellow violets fill the understory in April and May. The falls run loud through spring runoff, narrowing to a steady stream by late summer. Footing on the side slope demands attention with small children — there is no railing at the top, and the bank above the falls drops sharply. Stay back from the lip.
This is not a destination unto itself, but a worthwhile pause on the drive to bigger Cispus and Cowlitz Valley trails. Northwest Forest Pass at the small pullout.
